One of my favourite blog posts to read of other Photographers, are behind the scenes posts, it fascinates me seeing all that goes on before, during and after the professional shots have been taken, seeing just how much effort goes into setting up a styled shoot, it's really quite incredible. I figured my first blog post on here could be that from my first ever pre-styled wedding shoot, i've included a whole bunch of the suppliers setting up their areas, the models being pampered and preened, the amazing assistants running around holding smoke bombs for me, as well as a couple of me doing my 'thing' too.
After a long time of planning and organising this shoot, we all set off for what was to be, an incredible day. A whole bunch of us wedding suppliers all worked together and set up a "pretend" wedding, every aspect was covered, from the venue, to the flowers, the lighting, decor, the cutlery, even up to the Photo Booth and Models, we went all out and designed our very own Rustic Boho Wedding.
The shoot designer Laura, had this shoot in her mind for the past 2 years, waiting for the perfect venue before putting her all into it, so when Bowerchalke Barn became available for weddings and events, she jumped at the chance. And who can blame her? This place was absolutely beautiful, a 16th century barn, packed with only original features, with etched woodwork from back when it was first constructed, exposed high beams, a beautiful thatched roof and just a feel of romance as soon as you walk through the doors.
We wanted to keep the decor simple, enhancing the original features with only some fairy lights and mason jars with tea lights. Beautiful foliage to keep that rustic and country feel, without taking anything away from the natural beauty, the brides BEAUTIFUL bouquet was something of great uniqueness, there were zero flowers, instead the amazing Amy from The Blossom Parlour, created a bouquet of different greenery, never have I ever seen something quite like it before.
Everything about this shoot from the setting up to the taking down was special, working with such an incredible bunch of suppliers, we all had fun jumping in to the Photo Booth at the end, letting our hair down after a busy day. So if you are needing any of these guys for your big day, or maybe you're planning someone elses, they're links are all below, I cannot recommend them all enough, I'm not one to throw around the work perfection often, but here it seems the only word suitable.
A bunch of the photos are taken by myself, the others are by the wonderful venue designer!
